A graft is a horticultural technique used to join two different plant parts together to form a single plant. It involves taking a piece of one plant, called the scion, and attaching it to another plant, known as the rootstock or stock. The purpose of grafting is to combine the desirable characteristics of the scion with the sturdy root system and vigor of the rootstock.  Grafting is traditionally done with some plants like fruit trees, but for us, it is a valuable method of Camellia propagation.

We are so excited to host our unique class to instruct you in the technique of Grafting Camellias.  In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the reasons to graft and the different techniques.  You’ll also get the chance to graft your very own camellia to take home and enjoy for years to come.

This is a weather-permitting class.  We do not have a covered area in the event of rain or bad weather, so we’re at the mercy of the weather.  In the event we can not offer a safe class due to weather conditions, we will reschedule for a more suitable time if possible.

What You’ll Need To Bring

• Refreshments

Class Minimum of 6 and maximum of 8.    This is to give plenty of room to work and learn.  The workshop should last about an hour and a half and you’ll be able to take home a few grafted plants of your own to care for and grow as well as the know-how to do more!

Class Cost – $40.00 and is payable on the day of the event.  We accept cash or credit.   Because we may have some on a waiting list, PLEASE if you can’t make let us know so we can offer the class to someone else.

WEATHER CONCERNS AND CANCELLATIONS

Our workshop is held outdoors and is subject to weather issues that may prevent us from offering you a safe event.  We will look at the event a day before and if we see any issues we will let you know by email or text.
